This tour has been inspired by Subhash Production
Have planned the trip on Dec last week and may be due to new year rush to Goa we are unable to get train to Belgaum.
Ashoka Silklines:
On Dec 27th night 10:30 pm, we have alighted Ashoka Silklines bus at Kukatpally Hyderabad. Though on website it shows the least arrival time of all i.e. 6 am Belgaum, it made @ 10:30 am. When bus reached near to Belgaum there has been halt due to document issues with local RTO. To avoid delay we took an auto to MoveOnWheels - near Jyoti College Basavnagar.
MoveOnWheels:
I have booked Suzuki Access for four days and gave pickup time @9 am. While in bus I have kept my mobile in airplane mode citing charging issue. He called me @9 am and as there was no answer he had given the bike to other customer though payment was done. Have spent an hour at office to get another bike. Have got Aprilia SR 150 with 200/- extra payment. We left the office with a smile as a response to "Your petrol your ride, happy journey". As tour progressed we have felt that may be SR 150 suits these roads than Access.
Hotel Milan:
Though had registered a room @ Hotel Ajith, due to unavailability have booked at Hotel Milan. It is just 500 mt from MoveOnWheels , had its own restaurant with good quality food and a petrol bunk beside it.
Tilari:
On Dec 28th post lunch have started journey from hotel to Tilari Nagar, Maharashtra. Have reached the Tillari waterfalls through patchy roads and disappointed as the expectations was huge based on Subhash Production video. Still have doubt whether both are same or will it be different during rainy season?.
Next moved to Swapnavel point which is at a distance of 6+ km. Though road is patchy, way is beautiful and so does the viewpoint.
MTDC Green Valley resort:
Have checked out from Milan (600/- for 21 hours) and left post breakfast on Dec 29th to Pargad Fort. Its a long nice beautiful ride with good roads which are patchy intermittently. Though there are steps to the fort you can find a patchy road beside it to the top. It has beautiful views and a calm cool ambiance temple. Then left to Baba Waterfalls. The waterfall in google maps was tagged at a village but need to go further and at a point have to de-route from main road and take a slight up red sand road on the side. As there were no markings there is a chance to miss the de-route. We have missed it and with help of by-passers have made it. Baba falls is a combination of falls and as it is not rainy season the water volume is quite low. Then left to Amboli and reached MTDC Green Valley resort. Have booked a room and the resort is hub to waterfalls, temples, viewpoints, wooden crafts shop . Have visited Mahadevgad point around 4pm which gave a new stunning view and then moved to Sunset point near by the highway. Have enjoyed sunset with maggi and coffee. Shops were set up in the evening at near by street and have spent some time. When inquired, hotel receptionist revealed that water is quite low at near-by falls.
Shiroda:
Have left to Hiranyakeshi temple on Dec 30th morning and on the way a big banner guides us to take right turn to Vinayak swayambu temple which is alongside Ram mandir and a ashram. Both temples are awesome. Then left to Shiroda beach ,mid point of journey is Sawantwadi city with a beautiful lake at its center. Could not spend time at the city and left to beach. Have booked parasailing for 1500 for two person (heard that could be bargained for 1200 if less demand). Have enjoyed the activity, to and fro rides the most. We were taken to the para-sail boat in a normal casual boat and then post activity as others have booked for scuba (google reviews say it is not clear for scuba but not sure ,have not tried), we both alone were taken ashore in a speedy boat and have enjoyed the ride. Post a few pics and omelet pav, left to resort. Purchased Kokam salt syrup on the way and few wood items at the wooden crafts shop near the resort.
11304 KOP MUGR EXPRESS:
Have checked out from resort(990 /- per day semi deluxe) and left to Belgaum in the morning. It is a calm plain ride and returned the bike. It is approx 450+ km total ride. Have alighted the Kolhapur express @ BGM 12 pm and left to Hyderabad. Though Amba Ghat was part of plan, as journey gets long and also as we felt to take a break from valleys; Shiroda beach has replaced it. All these places could have been more spectacular in rainy season but felt the journey may be difficult on these patchy roads.
